What is online proctoring? Online proctoring literally means online surveillance. In other words, (digital) supervision of a test or examination. With this method, every candidate can take the examination in their own familiar environment. For example, at home or at their workplace. The supervisor, also known as a proctor, monitors the examination remotely. This can be done live (in real time) or afterwards (by reviewing the recording). How does the process work? The candidate logs in; The candidate shows his or her ID via the webcam; The candidate answers a number of online questions; The candidate shows the room (360 view) with the camera of his or her smartphone/tablet; The candidate commences the examination; The examination is always recorded (audio and video).
